Promotion of Girl Education
Sampark launched the Educate Girls program in collaboration with the Educate Girls Foundation in 2018-19, targeting the educationally backward regions of Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh. By aligning with the Right to Education Act and the Samagra Shiksha initiative, Sampark operates in over 500 villages, benefiting more than 150,000 children aged 6-14. The program employs community volunteers to identify and enrol out-of-school girls while improving foundational literacy and numeracy for all students.
Through engaging parents and local communities, Sampark raises strong participation in education, reduces gender disparities, and addresses the critical needs of girls. The initiative has implemented various strategies, including door-to-door surveys and awareness campaigns. During the academic years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, Sampark’s outreach efforts led to the identification of 9,922 out-of-school girls and contacted 12,384 children through door-to-door surveys, ultimately achieving an enrolment of 34,961 girls aged 5-14 in the program from 2018 to 2024. By forming Bal Sabhas and school management committees, Sampark ensures quality education and empowers girls, ultimately transforming the educational landscape in the region.
