Solar Energy System
Sampark’s solar energy initiative brings sustainable lighting and power solutions to underserved rural households, schools, and community facilities. In over 125 villages, it has provided smokeless wood stoves to 1,600 households, reducing firewood consumption by 50% and protecting women from harmful smoke inhalation. Additionally, 200 households have switched to solar lighting, saving 20,000 liters of kerosene and improving household lighting. With 150 families adopting solar-powered equipment for daily use, this shift not only lowers energy costs but also improves the quality of life by offering cleaner and more reliable lighting.
In its own Sampark Gram, the organization has installed a 4KW solar panel system, supplying the electricity needed to run its operations. This environmentally friendly energy source powers everything from administrative functions to lighting in residential spaces. The solar-powered Raipura campus is a testament to Sampark’s commitment to reducing carbon footprints and promoting renewable energy solutions with the residential school equipped with solar energy and biogas units, and the storm and wastewater is treated and reused for drinking, washing, and agriculture to produce vegetables that are consumed in the mess.
